The Jazz Cave Festival
The Jazz Cave Festival, will take place in Bucegi's Ialomița Cave and strives to restore the organic relationship that exists between humans and the natural world while promoting jazz music's universal values.
This year, the third edition of the Jazz Cave Festival will take place from August 16 to August 18 in the same magnificent location, the Ialomița Cave, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Romania in the Bucegi Mountains.The festival is an exceptional occasion that wants to bring back the natural connection between people, sounds, and the elements of nature. Three days of jazz music will reverberate through the magnificent Ialomita Cave, inviting tourists to take in the fascinating underground acoustics.The third edition, will feature jazz performances together with other musical genres, travelling exhibits, family-friendly activities, and walks through the popular tourist destination of Peştera - Padina.Through a three-day schedule of performances by celebrated musicians from Europe and beyond, such as Yukako Yamano, Jesse Davis, Markelian Kapidani Balcan Trio, Aleka & Ronan Guilfoyle, Koszika & Hotshots, Irina Sârbu Band, and Noise Linguistix, the festival honours the diversity of the art of improvisational sound.

The 2022 event held organised from July 1–3, right in the thick of summer, giving jazz and mountain climbing enthusiasts a chance to experience Bucegi's natural history. The Festival schedule has been kept straightforward while still enhancing each visitor's artistic experience.The event featured portable cultural exhibitions, concerts with multimedia projections demonstrating the Jurassic relief of the Ialomița Cave, tastings of organic wines, as well as educational projections to promote sustainable tourism in the tourist destination of Peștera-Padina, which has recently been declared a resort of national interest. The Ialomița Cave, also known as the "Cave of the Kings," is a location that has a special place in Romanian archaeology, geography, and folklore. As such, tourists were encouraged to rediscover its special significance on the occasion of their visit to Bucegi.
