If you arrive in Bucovina, you should not miss a unique trip with Mocanita from Moldovita to Hutulca villages.
The old steam train takes you on a foray into the past, through the villages with picturesque houses, lined up along the Moldovita River. Haystacks and shutters can be seen on all the hills, aswell as traditional houses with folks doing their daily tasks
The Moldovita Railway was built by a Munich sawmill owner, Louis Ortieb, and commissioned in 1888 to transport timber from the forest to the sawmill, and was used for this purpose until 2001. Currently, the line is 10.5 kilometers long and takes 30 minutes to reach Argel, the final point. There you can take a lunch with traditional dishes.
The ride starts twice a day, at 10 AM and 2 PM, and a ride costs 11 EUR.
