Since 1935, part of the Bucegi Mountains has been included in the list of protected areas in Romania, with national park status.
The Plateau of Bucegi offers a unique view for two reasons:
These spots are accesible by foot but also by cable car, from the town of Busteni. Busteni is the starting point of trekking on some of the most attractive routes in the Bucegi Massif. The views from up top are amazing! There are also 2 beautiful lakes called Bolboci and Scropoasa, and a very accesible waterfall called Urlatoarea.
Among the most popular ski resorts within the Bucegi Mountains is also Sinaia, nicknamed the "Pearl of the Carpathians", Sinaia offers the possibility of performing winter sports. Ski slopes within the resort are serviced by ski lift, accessible by cable car.
