The delta of the Danube River represents one of the last natural paradises in Europe, a network of channels, lakes, and lushly vegetated forests.
The Danube Delta was included in the UNESCO Project as a Reservation of the Biosphere because its peculiar features and the originality and variety of the ecosystems (more than 25 types of natural ecosystems).
Today we will leave the mountains behind and cross Danube River on our way to Tulcea. The town of Tulcea (known as Aegyssus in ancient times) is the gateway to the Danube Delta, offering to visitors many attractions, among them four museums devoted to art, archeology, ethnography, and natural history. Overnight in Tulcea, in a 4* hotel.
Probably the best day for bird watching! Full day on boat, discovering the beauties of the Delta.
